In 1986, Steve Jobs bought The Graphics Group (later renamed Pixar) from Lucasfilm’s computer graphics division for the price of $10 million. 9 years later Pixar produced Toy Story (1995) which brought fame and critical acclaim to the studio. Over the years, under Pixar’s creative chief John Lasseter, the company produced box-office hits after hits and won countless of awards. On January 24, 2006, Disney agreed to purchase Pixar for $7.4 billion, making Jobs an instant billionaire and largest single Disney shareholder.
